Kansas mom accused of killing son with duct tape gets life term

OLATHE, KAN. -- A woman accused of killing her 9-year-old adopted son by wrapping him from head to toe in duct tape was sentenced to life in prison Wednesday.
Christy Edgar was accused of punishing Brian Edgar for stealing cookies by binding him in duct tape. He was left overnight with only his nose uncovered and suffocated on his own vomit at the family's home in Overland Park, west of Kansas City.
Moments before she was about to go on trial in August, Edgar unexpectedly pleaded guilty to first-degree murder in the December 2002 death, along with two counts of abusing other children in the family.
She entered the pleas against the advice of her attorney, Kevin Moriarty, who told the court Wednesday that his client did not understand the consequences of her decision.
Edgar insisted she was innocent, making a rambling speech before Judge John Bennett, who refused to toss out her guilty pleas.
Edgar's husband, Neil Edgar, and baby sitter Chasity Boyd were convicted of first-degree murder and child-abuse charges in September. Both were sentenced to life in prison without the chance of parole for 20 years.

I would f*****g beat that b***h to a pulp. I have a 9 yr old son. So I tried to imagine doing that... and jsut like every death I hear of a child at their parents hands that are children around the ages of mine ..I get sick to my stomach, and I want to kill the parent. Why the f**k would you do that to a helpless being that relies on you for love and nourishment? People are f*****g sick.

Some people are hopless and there is nothing you can do for them.
Way too many poor children in the world victim of abuse and bad treatment. There is no way for the gouvernment to protect them all and prevent that kind of sad story from happening.
best you can do is love your children do some good around you and f**k the rest or you will never enjoy your life.
2-3 days ago here in Quebec an old man *from his family he was always drunk* well the grand-daddy went for a trip with his car with his little son in his car...well the drunk b*****d got an accident and it took the rescue team 2 hours to get the poor child out of the car...not only did he almost died from his wounds but he also almost died because of the cold.
oh well at least that old f**k will prob earn his lesson...that is if the parents doesnt kill that drunk f**k before.

This all affirms my belief that at the core of every evil there is a justification which says, "[In this case] my behavior is acceptable."
At some point this woman decided her child wouldn't listen, or whatever, so in her twisted insanity she believes this heinous action is justifyable.
If the boy had not died, this would never have been made newsworthy and she would have gone on to torture him for years to come.
Too bad CPS probably never spoke to the child. Or, if they did, they didn't care what he said because he's not an adult yet.
Remember guys - the complaints and pleas of children often go ignored by the government bodies established to protect them. Scum bags.

"My child, Susannah is very obese she is 5'3 and 419. I can't even get her dressed she is so obese she can barley walk. I take her to a dietitian every week, a cardiologist once a month and to the peditritian every two months. She gains almost 10 pounds a week. At our house we have a hospital scale and I weigh her every week. She goes to school but can't do gym class, and she comes home crying about bieing teased. I am 125 and 5'8 a perfectly respectiable weight for a 40 year old woman. Every day she eats lots of butter and fattening foods. Please help me help me help my daughter lose weight. Thank You, Shastah L. Catequak"

WTF is she retarted. Simple solution! Dont buy that much butter and or fattening food. The b***h kid couldnt cry much more when her food is taken away than when the kids make fun of her + the all the torment she will receive the rest of her life. Than add in all the crying the mother will do when her "baby" dies at 15 from a heart attack.
