well, I think I might have been scammed. 5 days and not a peep from the seller. I paid the day I won the auction via paypal.
Am I just f****d, or does ebay/paypal have a way of handeling things like this?

5 days isnt much...unless the seller has lots of negative feedback or states in the auction that he's going to send you a tracking number after payment then I wouldnt worry about it.
I hardly ever message my buyers after they pay for an item, unless they email me first with some kind of question. I get the payments, ship the item, leave the feedback and forget about it.
Reporting it to EBay/PayPal this soon and they wont do anything about it. They make you wait 8 days before filing anything I believe, then they give the seller another week to prove that they've shipped the item.

I know, just getting nervous. Im not doing anythign yet, ill give it 2 weeks or so.
I did email the guy a couple of times asking for a tracking number (its a fairly expensive piece of kit), and not a blip of a reply.
Thats whats got me concerned more than anything.
most likely, it will just show up at my door, but I'd like to be there when it does.

the seller might be asian
in that case he will not talk to you unless you send him about 20 emails, to which he will respond "HAVE YOU FOR SHIP" .. he will then ship out your product approximately 4 days from that email
the product will get to you looking ok, but after you start using it you will realize there is something really wrong with it ..
.. after about a week of using it you will come to the inescapable conclusion that it is a very good bootleg of the real item .. you will try to email back the seller to no avail .. then you will buy the authentic item from bestbuy and return the bootleg item in its place
about a month later than that the seller will no longer be marked for doing business on ebay

xbox controllers ...
they came in perfect microsoft packaging ... looked indistinguishable from microsoft controllers ...
however here were the differences:
- the thumbsticks were awful .. most of them would catch, and they did not have the perfect analog response that a normal controller would have ... they seemed more digital like "THIS DIRECTION GO" instead of "this direction for this amount, this direction for this amount"
- the sticker with the serial number was easily worn away and peeled off
here's the kicker that really got me:
- in my modded xbox on the OS of my modchip they were not recognized and did not work, however a real S controller was recognized and did work
luckily they were good enough bootlegs that bestbuy can't tell the difference for shit

I bought a USB cable for my Verizon phone from some Asian in Hong Kong. The thing arrived (from Hong Kong) within 10 days from placing the order. Worked fine and everything and was like $15.

HAHAHA
I got a bad mouse from Newegg a couple weeks ago. It turned off randomly and jumped across the screen for no apparent reason. I could have sent it back to newegg no problem... but then I would have to pay shipping again. I bought one just like it at Bestbuy then returned the newegg one.
