I dunno, sometimes i want a movie dubbed and sometimes i want it subbed. I think both options for teh win, thx dvd.

brotherhood of the wolf was dubbed and was done extremely well.
I think the quality of the dubbing does partially lie with how similar the languages are.
Dubbing french doesn't seem to be as bad as dubbing some asian movies

Yeah, that's actually a good example, his accent is funny as hell. I also would seriously be annoyed if i couldnt focus on the action in his movies because I was reading.
What I was mostly saying is I like to have both for most foreign movies, some days you're just too tired to read shit, other days you get annoyed by s****y voiceovers (anime usually).
Amelie is a good example of a movie best subbed, it just wouldn't be right unless the voiceovers were exceptional.

i took a film class once, we watched a very old german movie
after it was over, we were asked about how the scenes were setup
and the placment of stuff like flowers etc.
hardly anyone could say anything, as most everyone had spent the
whole movie trying to keep up with the massive amount of subs
sometimes i will watch both the sub and the dub, funny how
they will be different.
