My 19" took a shit. been looking around, and finding it to be a b***h to get a replacement. I'd get a flatscreen, but to get basically the same size as a 19" CRT you gotta spend like $400 or so on a flat panel, and arent flat panels usually less resolution and have "ghosting" on fast things like FPSs?

bleh

Try:

Looks like you can get a 19 for around 140-160 depending on who you buy from and shipping.

Keep in mind too that you would get pretty much the same viewable area on a 17" flat panel monitor as you would on a 19" CRT monitor. But there's other factors to consider depending on what yer gonna do on the monitor... I find CRT's better for gaming, but that's me /shrug.

Save yerself some money, 17" Flat Panels probably cheaper than a 19" CRT nowadays.

I just ordered a NEC 1760v-BK 17" LCD.

http://www.tomshardware.com/display/20030221/index.html

Newegg has it for $399. with free shipping, everywhere else its $450-ish.

the NEC1760v is rated one of the best 17" LCDs, Even for Games.

l'll let you know forsure how it is friday when I get it.

Im gonna compair it to my 19" Viewsonic Professional Series P95F, Its the Creme De la Creme of CRT monitors.

I bought my P95f about a year and a half ago, it was $480. the new one that replaced it is only $270-ish. its the P95f+.
only difference between the P95f+ and P95f is mine has DV RBYG in and no game brightness quick button.

the new P95f+ has a cool Brightness button for games, it works awesome.

dollar for dollar the P95f+ is the best CRT montior going, IMO.
