ok after reading through like 5 websites im still confused on how the class systems work now i under stand when you first make your toon you pick that first job. but it says at lvl 30 you can take and switch to something else now me im a bard in everygame. its the only class that keeps me interested. now do i have to pick a specific first class so i can be bard for my sub class or do i pick any job and i can still be bard down the road. also whats the best combo for the bard i was reading and everyone was saying be white magic and then go bard but i dont like following what everyone else does it just bothers me. now what job should i start out with red magic looked good could i do that and be successful as a bard? also what is the best race for a bard they always got tarutaru for the pictures of the bard but im sorry tarutarus look like "d" bags so is there any other race that can be a bard or can every race cause i like the galkans. and i dont care about stats because in all games at the end every race and class can max out all there stats so im not worried about that. thanks appreciate it

1 - paragraphs are your friend. reading your questions made my eyes want to bleed.
2 - any job/class can be a bard. jobs are exactly what they are called : jobs. You don't like your job? Switch to another and level that one up. Skills stay with the player themselves, but levels/exp go with the job.
3 - at level 30, you have met the first qualification to become one of the advanced classes (i.e. bard). From there, you must do the quest to activate the bard job in your Mog House. Check either Allakhazam's FFXI or www.ffxionline.com for the quest.
4 - starting job? that differs for each player. Me, I started warrior because in beta, i had a set path until I found out the job I wanted to be was only available in the japanese expansion (SAM). You are not limited to the job that you choose to start with, because you can just as easily run to your mog house and change to whatever your little heart desires.
5 - There is no "best" race for bard, however, this fact gets debated on the ffxionline forums all the time. Choose whichever race you like the most. Me, personally, I think Humes are the best looking, aside from Mithra, but I don't play chick toons. Male Elvaan look gay; Galka are too "odd".. and the asexual thing just doesn't do anything for me; and TaruTaru are the ubercute gnomes of the game, making me want to punt them around.
6 - Any race in the game can do any job.
7 - Best combo for bard? again, choose what YOU like. this is another topic that's highly debated on the ffxionline forums.

sorry sometimes i get carried away im getting better tho im starting to use punctuations. 2 months ago anything i typed wouldnt have periods and people went crazy. anyways thanks i appreciate the help and the time you took to answer my question

The fact that you think humans in this game look better than elves makes me question your **** preference. Humans look gay as hell aside from high level clerics, elf people kick ass in FFXI. I would have made taru, but the lack of HP offended me for tanking abilities

"HUMES" Did you know humes are just mithra's but mithra's have more AGI. Elfs are unique they are good at handling the sword lots of HP for pld and good for rng's and thfs and ninja's although mithra makes the best thf.
Humes are basically what you would call ok, in the middle at everything and so are mithra's.
Other jobs extend more specials like taru MP, but bad hp.
Galka amazing HP and STR but horrible MP
Elfs very nice HP and DEX, horribllleee MP!!
