If an alpha didn't hurt release, then why the hell would the publisher pursue those at fault so harshly? Delayed productions, or in the case of WoW, eventual hacked servers. Believe what you may, alphas hurt the f*****g game. j*****s.

Unless they got the server side code I really dont see the problem. Big deal you get to run thru the game with nothing in it. Rolling Eyes

I would think they could write their own with time. Did they get ahold of server side code to make the EQ emulator?

There are some hackers that claim they are getting server side info from people in alpha, but I dont know. All I know is they have the client side info.

I fail to see how Diablo 2 having duped items on realm servers has anything to do with a leeked WoW alpha. First off, there is verry little enforcement on the D2 servers as they are free. Secondly, the biggest problem they currently have is botting. You can easly set up an army of bots to farm the rarest items in the game. (Pre 1.10). There is not mass duping as most of the working methods are kept private so they arnt nerfed. Anything you can get from the wow alpha now you will be able to get in the beta and release versions. They will also be able to enforce rules much better with people having to pay for their accounts. I think its s****y people are leeking the alpha like its cool or some shit, but running around and empty world isent much fun.
