not really, tho i use athlon 64x2.

it is no match for intels quad core cpus in performance.

2 cores vs 4 cores. think again.

for gaming only. cuz amd uses both cores simulatenously no matter what app(even if program doesent support it).

But intel... if program dont know how to use 2nd core than... it uses it when first core gets 100%

other cores are just masturbating XD

64x2 6000 is good

core 2 duo. amd lost out on this round of processors, they used to be good for gaming but Ive recently upgraded from an AMD 64 x2 3800 to a core2duo 6800 and the difference is just wow.

I've always liked AMD personally. I run an AM2 CPU and have no complaints.

I currently use an Athlon 64X2, and if I could get my hands on an e6600, I'd take it in a heart beat.

AMD used to be best chips around, but they seemed to have slipped behind with the release of the Core 2 Duos.

C2Ds overclock a mile as well.

I've got an E6400 from 2.13 to 3.4. If you do some research on benchmark competitions, It's kinda back and forth. I have a feeling that whoever does the benchmarkings leave out the bad resulted tests favoring their favorite brand. Anywho, I've had both, and I've been pretty happy with this processor. Also, I wouldn't say a certain processor "plays games better", as thats going to be mostly dependant on the video card.

That's how I feel atm, amd is slackin. Top processors right now are Intels extreme stuff. They are the bread winners when it comes to 3DMark06 benchmark scores.

Core 2 Duo is definately better. AMD can't even get to 3.0 ghz yet, while Core 2s can OC to 4ghz+

I have an AMD x2 4200+ at home and an intel quad at school and the quad outshines my amd by far. All the other parts of the rigs are the same but the performance increase is huge. Plus my AM2 gets pretty hot sometimes.
