If its trance you want, go with Marco v, Chicane, PvD, Tiesto, Jon O'bir, Hyrbrid, Armin Van Buuren, Nu Nrg... can find a bunch at www.tranceaddict.com.

Prog.. Sash and Digweed ( i dont like em, but millions do) Sander Kleinenberg are good.

House.. Erick Morillo, Masters at work, Cassius, ROGER SANCHEZ, Derrick Carter, Dj Dan...

D+B.. LTJ Bukum, Dj dara, high contact, Dj marky, Goldie, Roni Size, TeeBee, J Magik, AK1200.

Other stuff.. Tim Deluxe(mostly house) but he rocks. Layo and Bushwacka have some nifty shit.

Honestly, Oakenfold opened the door for a lot of the London trance we have today, so Oakenfold should be on everyone's list, sorry Tryn. The best DJ's I've ever heard (and seen) are:

Darude
DJ Tiesto
Paul Oakenfold
Paul Van Dyk
DJ Keoki
Basement Jaxx
Energy 52

Those are the DJ's to listen to if you're just getting in. They have the smoothest sound, meaning most people can move to it. There are so much more great DJ's though.

rofl, techno dj's aren't really dj's and are really producers who are really choreographing sounds together on digital tracks. The real skilled dj's are the ones who spin vinyl.

My personal faves are the OG hip hop ones back in the day who spun, scrathed, cut, blend, mixed & looped with blazing skill on an AM mono station in la called kday. Some of you may recognize them but all were legendary.
Home for DJ Aladdin, Dr. Dre, Joe Cooley, Tony G., M-Walk, Julio among others. New School hip hop, my friend Hideo who spins for the The Beat in LA is also mighty talented. And who can honestly post anything with the best in it in without mentioning Grandmaster Flash. Pfft!

There were also some DJ's who specialized in the Freestyle Genre who were based out of Miami and f*****g kicked ass but I forgot their names. Gonna have to look at my tape collection one of these days.

BTW, Dennis Johnson is the ugliest Black man alive!

DJ Kool Herc. The innovator of hip hop and the first DJ to use a switch to flip back and forth between two separate turntables thus producing an extended breakbeat. These other djs wouldn't be shit without him.

I've seen Bad Boy Bill many times with his buddy Richard "Humpty" Vision and he's not a techno dj and more into Hard house. He's skillful but imho, he's not as gifted as some of the OG DJ's back in the day. But yeah, I still scoff at the rest of the list you and the others provided. For exanple, Paul Oakenfold sucks ass live and yes, he uses digital samples for his shows . I like his music though but to list him as a DJ, is pushing it. Irene is good live but she's just a mixer pure and simple.

Kilroy does have knowledge though y0!

^^

Tiesto, George Acosta, Irene, DJ Rap ( the b***h from Twix commercial), DJ Mystik, Trance Control (even though they stopped), and DJ Sammy.

You cant really throw Oakenfold up there anymore he has gone commercial. He only throws what others have already done, nothing new from him in a while so he is in it for the money now. Acosta is a hardass live and is makin some badass new stuff up, if you get the chance to check him out do it.

And as for you who say "they are not real DJ's" you ever f****n seen these people. They do spin you morons, but they also prerecord certain sounds to get the right effect.

That's utter b******t. Why do peopel feel the need to say things that are, quite simply, lies. Oakenfold's newest project was Bunkka [Perfecto], and although it's true that he is using vocals for this album, that doesn't at all mean he's sold out, on the contrary, he's breaking the trance mold with some of the people doing the vocals (ice cube?). Also doing the full album for Swordfish doesn't mean he's selling out, it means he's successful. That's like saying Michael Jordan sold out the Chicago Bulls cause he was better than everyone else. You're saying DJ Sammy didn't tell out? Horseshit. Everyone and their f*****g mother heard "Heaven", and then he went out and made a 9-11-01 remix! That's not selling out?! Oakenfold went commercial, yet you mention DJ Rap, who is IN a twix commercial, how much selling out do you need before your warped sense of "going commercial" kicks in, d*****t?

So sick of morons calling other people morons...
