hehe more like a bump on the road to moving it all overseas.. sadly its still cheaper to retrain these people to be very good at english with only slight accents than it is to pay an american tech.

I recently learned a little about pricing. You can get two .net developers + a project manager at a shop contract rate for $2,500/month. Antbody want to compete with that?

many of the people i know with dell corporate accounts love dell's tech support in india. my friends have said that the techs who they've spoken with are very knowledgeable and are able to solve problems quickly.
as much as i hate moving jobs overseas, at least those guys make you think they like their job over the phone, much different from the attitude you'll get from the tech support people in the US.

I do tech support for Belkin and they just recently eliminated about 95% of thier overseas tech support centers and moved them back to the states.
People were complaining about the same thing, hard to communicate with the tech's with thick accents and very poor english

My job is great. It's the customers I hate.
Besides... seeing any part of the US economy shipped overseas is s****y. I feel the same way about factory workers who make 3x my wage for manual labor.

it all comes down to whether you prefer to have a bad back and bad knees or go insane, at the age of 43.

Paden people thinking they are more intelligent than you can hardly be considered arrogant.

did you try to correct that image's spelling, because it was correct, and you were wrong...
maybe you're refering to something else.

The interesting thing about that article is that Dell moved tech jobs back to the US and their stock went up. Major corporations are selling out quality for the quick buck by sending jobs overseas. This is the same thing Textiles bitched about in the 80's, then it was Automotive in the 90's. Now, it's finally happening to the white-collar, upper-middle class. At some point, corporations are gonna have to realize two things: 1) You can't have a consumer-based society when said consumers have no jobs. And, 2) Moving jobs over-seas might turn a quick profit, but long-term quality will suffer. And, in the end, so will that corporation.
I hate corporations.
