Im interested in those asus EEE pc 900 pc's. Does anyone actually own one? if so, can u state some things about it? If u have like the older versions (2g,4g,etc) or both, i'd like to know about that too? Did u ever try playing games like world of warcraft on it?

I have a EEE PC 4G surf and i love it. Alittle on the weak side for CPU speed but you can overclock it with some tools. I would also recommend upgrading the ram if you get one. I have 4gigs of ram and it runs like butter Smile

Forgot to add to Play wow you need to have atleast 2 gigs of ram on the EEE PC. The hack for overclocking and the resoultion hack to be able to play. Its accually not that bad. It does lag at times in like ORG but its expected.

I know a few guys who carry them around classes for note taking [they come with OpenOffice - atleast on the Linux installs I've seen] - they seem pretty versatile and reliable!

I don't know where you are; but in the UK atleast - I'd wait a few months until the larger one [9" monitor] comes out. In some parts of the world that would've already been released though.

Theres also quite a few websites about moding/upgrading it - so if you're prepared to ruin your warranty and you're handy with hardware; then it *is* upgradeable!

As for gaming on it - I wouldn't think it'd be that good.

www.eeeuser.com
best fan-webby by far

I am selling my 700 series in the UK because I need money for my holiday, to give you an idea of how useful it is to me.

I tell a lie, its a pretty cool machine, and I installed XP on it (not clever enough to use linux) and its great for idle browsing in front of the telly, or MSN/email in bed, and its a quiet little machine, but the bog standard batteries it comes with are its only downfall.

I just read somewhere that asus wants to setup a system for something like 200ish configurations of the eee. I would think one of those would probably meet your needs...
