Scammers, liars, noobs, OH MY!

by coo_boy1

I am  SURE us traders have met a scammer at least once.  This annoys me.  Why should we have to risk our trades with a bunch of scammers?  Well I am here, to give tips, on how to spot a scammer, a liar, and an all around noob.

Spotting that noob

Information on spotting a scam:

Scammers usually use 50/50(A trade where you give half, other gives half and until you both get wholes).  50/50 is the #1 method for scammers, so beware.  So if you have that person refusing to use a moderator from RealPoor as a middleman and demands you use a 50/50, it is a most likely a SCAM.

The old "I forgot the information" trick.  How can you forget the information of something personal?  Lets take Runescape for example.  You have recovery questions, recovery questions are supposed to be PERSONAL QUESTIONS(who forgets their first best friend or thier mothers middle name?).  If the person says he/she forgot the information, it is most likely a SCAM.

This other scam doesn't usually work, but it can work.  This scam is the "Lets use MY friend that you never heard of as an middleman."  Come on?  Do I have to spell it out for you? S-C-A-M.

Lets not forget the "I gtg NOW" scam.  This  is the scam where the person wants to rush through a trade and does not want to hassle. SCAM ALERT!

Tips on trading

Tips for trading:

Try not to use MSN or AIM or those instant messengers.  Yes they are quicker then RealPoor pm'ng but its alot safer.

Try to always use a middleman.  Of course if the middleman is off you have to wait, but it is better then 50/50 and you will be safe.  Better safe then sorry right?

If you are using an instant messenger and using a middleman, make sure the middleman and trader both confirm their instant messenger names.

Trade safely,

~Coo
