PayPal not the greatest choice.

by stec

Ok my first article for realpoor so don't rip me too much.

As of late PayPal seems to be getting more and more of a scammer friendly payment method, with numerous reversals happening recently. I just thought I'd try and stick something together in relation to a couple of other payment methods buyers and sellers have available to themselves Money bookers and Escrow, I've only picked these two as I know a little about them. I won't go into massive details ill just post links to the sites and what kind of services they offer, they both have very large Faq's for you to browse through and find more information.

The main point of this article is that people don't know anything about these sites, so this will hopefully help people to have more of a choice than just using PayPal.

First off we will start with money bookers found here: http://moneybookers.com/app/

Money bookers site can be viewed in the following languages: English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Polish, Greek, Romanian, Russian, Chinese and Czech.

Ok now the next site is: www.escrow.com

Escrow basically acts like the middleman,

Why Use Escrow?

Escrow.com adds trust to the transaction

Escrow.com reduces the potential risk of fraud by acting as a trusted third party that collects, holds and disburses funds according to Buyer and Seller instructions. Escrow services are provided by a licensed and regulated escrow company.

  • When to use Escrow.com: Escrow is well-suited for items purchased on auction sites, automobiles, motorcycles, domain names, jewelry, specialized computer equipment, and other high-ticket items.
  • When to use another payment service: If you know and trust the other party involved in the transaction.

Protection for both Buyer and Seller

  • Buyers receive and inspect the merchandise before the Seller is paid.
  • Sellers receive their money if the Buyer accepts the merchandise.

How does it work?

  1. Buyer and Seller Agree to Terms
Both parties agree to terms of the transaction, which includes a description of the merchandise, sale price, number of days for the Buyer's inspection, and any shipping information.
  2. Buyer Pays Escrow.com
The Buyer submits an available payment option. Escrow.com verifies the payment. Processing time varies by payment method.
  3. Seller Ships Merchandise
Upon payment verification, the Seller is authorized to ship merchandise and submit tracking information. Escrow.com verifies that the Buyer receives the shipment.
  4. Buyer Accepts the Merchandise
The Buyer has a set number of days for an inspection and the option to accept or reject the merchandise.
  5. Escrow.com Pays the Seller
Escrow.com pays the Seller by the method selected by the Seller. The transaction is complete.

So basically this method is slightly slower for people selling accounts as you would have to mail the account details to the buyer in order to receive tracking information. But hey slow and steady wins the race eh!

What are the benefits?

Escrow.com, an accredited escrow company, acts as a secure third party to protect the Buyer and Seller.

How Buyers are protected:

  • Escrow.com tracks the shipped merchandise and verifies it was delivered.
  • The Seller isn't paid until the Buyer accepts the merchandise, or the inspection period expires.

How Sellers are protected:

  • Escrow.com confirms when the Buyer receives merchandise.
  • The Seller is authorized to ship only after Escrow.com verifies good funds.

I hope this gives traders a new choice instead of using something as unreliable as PayPal.

Any feedback is much appreciated (only good though  j/k)
