PayPal Scam Prevention

PayPal is risky to use especially for those people who are new.
This guide will help out how to be prevented of chargebacks ( reversed ) scams.

Scammers

First off remember that any tradingbuyingselling are risky and dangerous as it can result to being scammed. You have a chance of being scammed even if you are the seller. No matter how many posts what rank they are how much power they have how popular they are, they can scam on the right opportunity. For all trades, get the person to PM email and post on your thread, that way if the person scams, you have a chance to report him with the proof,  BAM hes banned! Research about that person if their trustable enough to trade, attitude have some affects on that.

Payments with PayPal

There are several ways of getting paid with PayPal.
There are 3 kinds of funding methods to PayPal.

1. Fund by Bank - E-Check ( 3-7+ days to transfer )
2. Fund by Creditcard ( Instant payment )
3. Fund by Balance - Money on PayPal account. ( Instant Payment )

All these methods can be chargebacked. If the person has paid with either method #1 or method #3 and they have Claim&Canceled it, you should be fine as they cannot make another dispute.
However, if the person has paid with their creditcard on PayPal the payment can be chargebacked regardless of disputing a Claim&Cancel.

Ways of preventing reversible payments

There are two ways to prevent this:

1. Getting your PayPal account to not receive any creditcard payments.
2. Posting on your thread not receiving any creditcard payments period.

Method #1

To not receive creditcard payments, you'll have to leave your PayPal account to personal. BusinessPremier accounts are able to recieve payments. As you are the seller, you'll want safe trading even though your PayPal fees will be slightly higher rate but safer dealing with this method. The person sending the creditcard payment to your personal account will be charged with a transaction fee. Another way of finding other than the transaction fee is by seeing if the person is ineligible when you recieve their payment. When that person is ineligible, You will know that person is not verified, Not funded by CC.

Method #2

In your thread, post that you will not accept creditcard payments via PayPal period.

Now to finding a way if its a creditcard payment.

Way #1

If you have been paid and not knowing if its a creditcard payment, check the fees. Balance payments do not fee as they are PayPal to PayPal payments, which is free.

Now this is a warning. If you still have been paid by a creditcard payment and have warned them about these payments, do not send the money back. Refund it or let them reclaim it. If you end up sending their money back, they can claim it and end up having their money and your money. Would you want that to happen? No.

Finding a way of stolen PayPal accounts

Whats annoying right now are Chinese scammers in RealPoor. They have either creditcards or PayPal account stolen. Its not only them so watch out for other people.

You need to verify if the person is actually their account. Check the person who you are talking to you is the same email as their PayPal email. If the person does not have the same email, send the person a message to the PayPal email and get them to read what you sent them. Easy like that. If the person is refusing, they failed and using a stolen PayPal account or creditcard.

Claim&Cancel Method

Always use this method in any case. Even with creditcard funds as they can't be reversed unless they have called their company.
Use the exact steps shown in here. Word by word as well.
