Grand Theft Auto IV Multiplayer Secrets Revealed

Grand Theft Auto IV is finally out and it the first console game in the series, which includes online multiplayer. Would you like to hear some spicy details about it?

What has been lacked through the years of GTA game existence is finally here – a multiplayer to spice up the gaming experience to the most devoted fans and for those who are about to become fans of this popular franchise.

GTA IV has everything is needed for one good multiplayer:

•    There are a total of 15 game modes divided into three main categories (Player Match, Ranked and Party Mode). Each mode has unique objectives and gameplay.

•    The maximum number of players in the multiplayer is 16, although various modes have other limitations on the number of players that can join.
•    Configuration of each mode can be adjusted by the host. That includes vehicles types, volume of traffic and number of pedestrians, police presence, weapons or auto-aim. Weather can be controlled as well.
•    Characters are completely customizable. Player can essentially create own unique online character by adjusting their hair, sex, race, clothing. Increasing rank in Ranked multiplayer matches unlocks additional options.
•    Games are random. After choosing a game mode to play, player will either be thrown into an already made game or will start own game.
•    Killing another player gets $100. A dead player usually drops approximately $15. If player kills himself it will cause that player lose $100.
•    Ranked matches and other features in multiplayer GTA, requires money to get ahead. The amount needed to gain a rank increases as a player progresses in the game.


GTA IV Multiplayer Requirements



You’ll need XBox Live or PlayStation 3 in order to play this game. PC version is not yet confirmed and it could take even a year before PC owners enjoy this game.


In game you’ll need a cellphone. Then you have to:

  • Bring up your mobile phone.
  • Access the cellphone menu.
  • Scroll down to Multiplayer.
  • Enter the Multiplayer submenu and there you can access multiplayer matches, customize your character or view a multiplayer tutorial.

* Note: The multiplayer tutorial will give you all of the info you need to know to join multiplayer games, and is a great way to introduce yourself to the dynamics of Grand Theft Auto IV multiplayer.


GTA IV Modes



GTA IV
has variety of multiplayer modes available. It brings a fresh approach to the multiplayer games, giving the essence to one of the most popular games ever.

This is what was missing to fill the gaming feeling.

Modes are divided in single player and team modes. Additional modes, such as Cooperative, Competitive and Race modes are available to players as well.


Player Modes and Matches


Player Match

Player Match lets you go up against other GTA gamers in every possible multiplayer mode.

Ranked Match

Ranked Matches are not fun as Player Matches. A real goal has been set here – The Rank and the Money.  As player progresses in Ranked matches and earn more money, his rank gradually increases to the maximum ranked level of 10, unlocks additional goodies for player’s character.
 
Party Mode

Party mode is VIP mode and Invite-only. However, everyone is in the same team in this mode. And there is no police here...



Team Modes


There are five modes available for those who prefer to play with their buddies.


Team Deathmatch


Players work as a team to rub out other team(s) for money. Team with the most cash at the end of the round wins.

Team Mafia Work

Work on small and big jobs for a mob as a team. Again, for the money.

Team Car Jack City

Steal the cars across the city for the money.

Cops n’ Crooks

Crooks must save their boss, while Cops are chasing them. This mode has two submodes:

  1. All For One: Cops win if they kill Boss. Crooks win if Boss escapes safely.
  2. One For All: There’s no Boss here. Cops win if they kill all Crooks. Crooks win if they fill getaway car with all members of the team.

Turf War

Capture-The-Base Mode for two teams only. The team who captures the territory of another team wins.


The game also includes a variety of racing and co-operative modes.



Cooperative Modes



Dealbreaker


Don’t get busted, don’t get killed, take all the money and wipe out anything on your way.


Hangman’s Noose

Single player mission that features co-op play.


Bomb Da Base II

Based on one of the most outstanding missions from the GTA III. You and your team will work united to sabotage a large cargo ship.




Competitive Modes


Similar to the Team Modes although, they’re based on little scenario.


Deathmatch


Free for all and players can use anything to kill their competition.

Mafia Work

Competing against other players in series of mini-missions.


Car Jack City

Take out as much cars as you can before your competition do the same.


Free Mode

Do whatever you want. No rules.




Race Modes


If you’re tired of guns and bosses, then you can always take the car and race with other players for the money or the rank. Or just for fun.
There are two modes available:


Race


Race to the finish through each checkpoint in order. There are two submodes:


Free Race are point-to-point races. First one to reach the end point wins.
Cannonball Run are races where you have to traverse several checkpoints any way you can.

GTA Race

Similar to the standard race mode, but some small amount of combat is involved.




No matter which mode you choose, they all guarantee a lot of fun. Multiplayer aspect has been finally brought to the one of the most popular games on the planet.

It’s hard to resist and not to try.
