Best Classes in Age of Conan

So you bought your copy of the most popular MMORPG nowadays, Age of Conan: Hyborian Adventures and now you have dilemma: Which is the best class to play?
It’s hard to give an answer on this question, because best class choice depends on many aspects and they’re all individually based. Some will like Melee class, while others cannot imagine a good MMORPG experience without Mages.
So, all I can do is to give you a brief insight in all classes, their abilities, weapons and armor. It’s up to you then to decide which of them you will choose and play.
Soldiers
Conqueror
Conquerors are strong and heavily armored fighters usually found in the midst of combat. Their auras inspire everyone that fights with them. The class is mainly a melee class, with access to all types of armor and all types of blunt and edged weapons. They have access to some beneficial aura type magic.
- Available races: Aquilonian, Cimmerian
- Weapons: One-handed blunts, two-handed blunts, one-handed edged, two-handed edged, crossbows, thrown weapons, and dual wielding.
- Armor: Heavy armor, medium armor, and light armor.
Dark Templar
Dark Templars are fearsome warriors that utilize dark magic to inflict pain and drain the life force out of their opponents. It's a melee class, but very adept at magic, especially life taps and the use of trinkets that increase their damage.
- Available races: Aquilonian, Cimmerian
- Weapons: One-handed edged, one-handed blunts, crossbows, and thrown weapons.
- Armor: Heavy armor, medium armor, light armor, and shield
Guardian
Guardians stand firm like towers in the front of combat, knocking down enemies by the scores. They have no magic, but can take more punishment than anyone else.
- Available Races: Aquilonian, Cimmerian
- Weapons: One-handed edged, one-handed blunts, pole weapons, crossbows, and thrown weapons
- Armor: Full plate, heavy armor, medium armor, light armor, and shied
Rogues
Assassin
Assassins are specialists in murder. They deal swift and massive damage to their victims, before they slink back into the shadows from whence they came.
- Available Races: Aquilonian, Stygian
- Weapons: Daggers, crossbows, and dual-wielding
- Armor: Cloth armor and silk armor
Barbarian
Barbarians are wild and untamed fighters that utilize speed and non-conventional attacks to damage their opponents, sacrificing armor to achieve this goal.
- Available Races: Cimmerian, Aquilonian
- Weapons: One-handed edged, one-handed blunts, two-handed edged, two-handed blunts, bows, thrown weapons, and dual wielding.
- Armor: Cloth armor and light armor
Ranger
Rangers are distance weapons specialists who pick down their opponents at a distance, but who are also able to fight back if encountered close up.
- Available Races: Cimmerian, Stygian, Aquilonian
- Weapons: One-handed blunts, one-handed edged, daggers, bows, crossbows, and dual-wield
- Armor: Cloth armor, light armor, medium armor, and shields
Priests
Bear Shaman
Bear Shamans are strong like their totem animal, the bear, crushing enemy skulls with their massive hammers while augmenting healing and eventually resurrecting their allies. They get their powers from shamanic rituals and strong ties with the spirits and nature around them.
- Available Races: Cimmerian
- Weapons: Two-handed blunts, bows, crossbows, and thrown weapons
- Armor: Cloth armor, light armor, and medium armor
Priest of Mitra
Priests of Mitra wield divine power that can aid, heal and even bring the dead to life. They have the strongest healing powers and a wide range of spells including martial prayers that can bombard their enemies with holy damage.
- Available Races: Aquilonian
- Weapons: One-handed blunts, one-handed edged, daggers, crossbows, and thrown weapons
- Armor: Cloth armor, light armor, and shield
Tempest of Set
Tempest of Set wield the awesome destructive might of Set, the ancient snake god of Stygia who rewards his disciples with awesome destructive powers. Like other priests, Tempests have the power to heal en masse and restore life.
- Available Races: Stygian
- Weapons: One-handed blunts, one-handed edged, pole weapons, daggers, bows, crossbows, and thrown weapons
- Armor: Cloth armor, light armor, and shields
Mages
Demonologist
Demonologists are magic experts who have aligned themselves strongly with otherworldly demonic forces. Their damaging magical attacks drain from the caster's own life force. The class may also summon demonic servants to do their bidding. They have some augmentative magic and access to magical trinkets.
- Available Races: Stygian
- Weapons: Daggers, crossbows, and thrown weapons
- Armor: Cloth and silk armor
Herald of Xotli
Herald of Xotli uses dark magic to transform him or herself into a fiery demon. In demonic shape they swing at their foes with heavy weapons, while searing flames weaken everyone around them. In human form the class can only use cloth armor.
- Available Races: Stygian
- Weapons: Two-handed edged, crossbows, daggers, and thrown weapons
- Armor: Cloth and silk armor
Necromancer
Necromancers chills the air as they spread their corruptive and damaging magic. The class bonds with everything that is unholy in this world. Necromancer can raise the dead and command them to do their bidding.
- Available Races: Stygian
- Weapons: Daggers, crossbows, and thrown weapons
- Armor: Cloth and silk armor
