5 Video Games You Should Have This Christmas
It’s a perfect time to start thinking about the games to get for the Christmas holidays. Dilemma is: should you choose single player games or involve your family and friends in your Christmas gaming session?
Fresh entries like Crysis Warhead or FarCry 2 cannot be avoided, but there are plenty games nowadays available that allow you to involve others and socialize a bit more during the holidays, because that’s the point of Christmas.
So involve others this time, don’t lock your room and play alone. Choose some nice multiplayer and your fun will be multiplied.
However, everyone have different tastes and wishes, but we will suggest you some nice recent titles for the Christmas time of joy.
Guitar Hero: World Tour
Genre: Musical Video Game/Simulation
Platform: PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, Wii, Xbox 360
If you think that Christmas time is ideal for headbanging on the imaginary stage with your friends and family, then Guitar Hero is the game you should get.
Although the $189.99 'band kit' version sounds pricey, it comes with a couple of nice plastic toys. The new drum set has been introduced with four pads plus a pair of cymbals. The slightly larger guitar has a new pad you can slap-strum and the whole thing comes with a substantial 86 master-recording track list. Also, nobody dies in this game - perfect for Christmas.

LittleBigPlanet
Genre: Puzzle/Platform
Platform: PlayStation 3
LittleBigPlanet is great puzzle adventure with amazing graphics that can be played with your friends, either if you co-operate or compete across each level.
The game can be customized, not just the characters themselves but the whole game. It is very easy to create your own levels, and the biggest fun definitely is setting up areas for fooling around and then sharing them online with other people.

World of Goo
Genre: Puzzle
Platform: Wii, PC, Mac, Linux (in Beta)
Sometimes the best things come in small packages. When I say small, I really mean it. Game that requires only 100 MB of your free HD space is not something that is usual these days. World of Goo is a game, with simple, but lovely graphics and funny music divided into five chapters with many levels. You start each level with a nub full of tiny balls of goo and an exit-point pipe at the other side that you have to build over to.
Point is to build as efficiently as possible using the goo and to compete with your friends.

The game is funny as hell and has really silly system requirements:
Windows
Windows XP / Vista
DirectX 9.0c
1GHz or faster CPU
512MB of RAM
100MB of disk space
A 3D graphics card that is less than 5 years old
Mac
Mac OS X 10.1 or later
Lord of the Rings: Mines of Moria
Genre: MMORPG
Platform: PC

First official expansion for probably the second most popular MMORPG is next recommendation for the time of Christmas. LotRO gets two new character classes, levels upgrade from 50 to 60 and six new books.
Although World of Warcraft is more popular, Lord of the Rings Online is based on one of the most popular pieces of fantasy fiction in history. Also, LotRO has something that competition lacks: a progressive story.
Share Christmas joy with other players all over the planet with - as Turbine calls it - "the greatest dungeon adventure you have ever seen and played".
Gears of War 2
Genre: Tactical third-person shooter
Platform: Xbox 360
Just when you thought that Christmas time will end up peacefully, aliens invade out of nowhere. It’s OK, if you want to spend some time shooting them or if the multiplayer Christmas with your friends exhaustes you.
Ideal scenario would be if someone gives you GoW2 as a Christmas present.

Things that had changed in one of the most popular console shooters are bigger areas, more objects to hunker behind, smarter enemy opponents, a couple of new multiplayer modes (capture-the live body instead of flag) and less paced story.
When I re-think… Forget what I've said about socialization and Christmas spirit. Isolate yourself and spend some quality time with probably the best recent shooter game. You won’t regret it.
Your suggestions for the best Christmas picks are welcome in comments.
