What is this device of which you speak wise Rootus? Speak and I shall listen. Wasn't my BB it was my bosses, to be honnest I think blackbreey is too hip with executives to be worth a shit. I mean if they can figure it out, how cool could it really be?

BB isn't really hip. The $700 PDA phones which no one uses for more than email and phone are 'hip', because they have a better marketing campaign. Blackberries have a lot of features without being glitzy or s****y.

UnitedAirlines were giving away free blackberries if you booked a flight with them onlie, think they still might be.

The device itself is cheap - the service is costly if you go with unlimited bandwidth. My phone + BB data unlimited is $100 / month. :O But I can surf and email and download all I want!

I'm with Cingular. I have the unlimited data service, not sure what medianet is. I really like the BB for what it does. The only thing I would change is give it the ability to play polyphonic ringers. Right now it's MIDI only. X(

ohh actually, i think blackberry has it own rate plans they make you get some data plan instead of just medianet, which is cheaper (i think).
anyway, i just prefer a pocketpc phone over the blackberrys because i feel like they're more useful/functional *shrug* to each his own i guess

It's all about the Handspring/Palm Treo 650. Bluetooth baby and you can get an unlimited net/text message from Sprint for $15/month. Check Amazon for deals/rebates. And you get a good bluetooth Plantronics headset for $33 from PcMall/MacMall now. Giddy up!

sprint is around #3 right? or 2 now? i know they are huge on the east coast.
cingular > tmobile > verizon > sprint
seriously though, don't get a phone through a carrier if you're looking for the best phone. buy an unlocked one.

Cingular just passed 50 million subs
I think it goes Cingular > Verizon > T-mobile > Sprint > Alltel
Not sure past T-mobile tho, like it matters ;p
Media.net is Cingular's wapdeck, its like cingular's homepage.
Anyone with cingular blackberry experience problems this past monday from 3:15 pm est till 4:15 pm est? ;ppp

In the north east tmobile won't work worth a damn, and ATT/cingular just drops your calls or says your busy. There are only 2 choices up here. Either Unicell or Verizon. Unicell has a tad better super rural coverage, however Verizon is 10x better (and cheaper) when you go nation wide.

i shoulda explained better....
that was order of best service / all around service.
verizon has more than anyone I believe unless cingular passed them. however they are f*****g expensive. but this dv-do or whatever crap CDMA has come out with is probably going to help them a lot.
GSM rules. Never forget that. GSM/UMTS is even better although UMTS is probably gonna be outdated soon.
From what I'm seeing the MpX is going to be a nice phone. Expect to see a lot of wi-fi phones coming out soon. Treo650 isn't a bad phone, I hate siemens phones.
