Though i disagree with this particular suit's goal of banning the cookies, I do think that the general public needs to be aware of food additives and their risks.
Many food processing companies have spent tons of money to hide things from the general public, much like cigarette companies did years before in hiding the truth about smoking. MSG, olestra, nutrasweet, preservatives, and other additives have potentially disturbing effects on the human body over long periods of consumption. In this country, the general public is often deceived since companies are lobbying the FDA to downplay the risks associated with these additives.
I've become more aware of these things as I've read about them, and I'm moving further and further away from processed foods because they are BAD FOR YOU. Ignorance is not bliss when it comes to companies hiding the truth from you to make some money.

Pretty soon we will all just get our daily ration of tasteless nutritious goo and water and there will be no Oreo's or anything else for that matter; everything else will have too much liability involved and we will just degenerate into a society of conformity.

the lawyer is the one makieing the case. i know he dont stand a chance of winning but just the thoight of someone even trying this is pretty stupid. they are not hiding what oreos are made of. he was just ignorant to what those ingrediants actualy were. ah well i hope he chokes on some fat free tofu or something.

The lawyer is the one "doing the suing" (plainant). He's suing on behalf of his own organization "BanTransFats.com, Inc.", a California non-profit corporation.

Splitting hairs very thin, since the lawyer is the founding officer of the "not-for-profit" and himself initiated the lawsuit from the organization which he founded simply to have an organization from which to file a lawsuit. Also, his name will appear on the lawsuit, since he is the principal officer.
