im prolly gunna get it when they get them restocked
not only does it look cool with its side window and drive plates, and the usb is easily accessable, but the inside is very nice with the snap in drives turned 90 degrees horizontally and the motherboard mount is removable
unless anyone else has any suggestions

$120 for a case with no power supply? Do people come to your house to look at your computer so you need it to be pretty?

Well...
I got a Thermaltake Xaser case with a transparent side panel. The transparent side panel is a must for my watercooling system. Helps me make sure everything is correct once I close the case (ie, no kinks in the tubes). The Xaser case was 150$ when I bought it. Add in the 460w Thermaltake Butterfly power supply (with flashing lights! It's pimp!) and the complete case is ~225$. Of course, it doesn't factor in the heavy modifications I did (repaints, more fans, fixtures for the radiator and reservoirs, etc.) and the actual watercooling kit (300$+).
Oh, and the extra UV light and the UV reactive dye in the tubes ^_^

right now i have a 35$ case, its tight, annoying to open, and some of the cards (like my graphics card) dont align perfectly to it causing screwing them in to be a virtual impossibility (right now the s***w is tilted sideways and half screwed in to hold it in place) .. also the USB is all the way on the bottom of the case and not visible making it a f*****g w***e to plug anything in
i like this case not only because it looks good, but because the way the inside of it is set up, and how the motherboard mount is removable
i basically dont want to spend jack shit to get the same case i already have that i hate

i didnt really find anything coolermaster on newegg that compared to this
i hate front doors so half their cases are out
i couldnt find one where the inside was nearly as awesome with mount clips for hard drives and detachable motherboard mount
i found like 2 nice looking aluminum ones but they had no inside-the-case features like this one has (and are still like $100)

the coolermaster praetorian case is probably one of the best if not the best case on the market in terms of cooling for a reasonable price.. their wavemaster case looks awesome i think but its not that great in terms of actual function... personally i prefer the really sleek looking cases to the stuff that is really loud (in terms of color and shit not noise ;p)

Chieftec / Chenming Dragon for space.
However, if you are looking to customize your case, you might wanna consider acrylic cases: acrylic is so much easier than stainless steel to cut

my roommate got a slightly different version of this one
http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=11-125-438&depa=1
(i think his was a full case (taller) and it had different door on it)
i think its a really nice case
but i cant get the same case as him that would be .. tacky .. or something
also i really dont like doors

if i was in the market right now i would actually buy that one, not only is it a nice case but it suports the new style motherboards they are suposed to be making in a year or so (btx i think?) so it wont be obsolete like most other cases your buying now. |
it is pretty big .. and sort of nasty looking .. and 40$ more .. but in terms of cooling and being able to handle future motherboards its a lot better .. i wish it was easier to tell how noise-dampening cases are by comparison
it sucks that actual size from pictures is hard to tell =\ .. i think a big case can be nice and spacious when working with it but a giant case is just over the top .. i dont know which one this one is

The future of cooling is watercooling
Get a case that a big case for when you make the big jump
*edit* I mean that watercooling will eventually become mainstream... not that its anything new.

I dont think watercooling will ever become mainstream, better hardware that doesnt heat up so much will come way before the mainstream ever feels the need to move to a system that requires so much more maintence and is more costly.. we will see a movement away from spinning drives eventually and as better and better materials are developed friction will lessen.
The mainstream wants ease of use, style, and durability. Watercooling doesnt offer any of that.

1 suggestion though
switch those over to liquid neon
OMG i just realized i have the same gamepad you do .. rock on!
although if im using it for a long time the analog sticks become offset a little and it f***s up gameplay and i have to unplug it and plug it back in to fix it thereby having to restart / leave the game to get it to recognize the gamepad again
do you have that problem? i got it all the time playing FFXI and Legacy of Kain
