I believe it goes by the last two digits of your social security number, as to when the money is received. It is $600 for single (independent) people and $1200 for married couples. It also depends on how you filed your taxes and what you chose as your payment method, i.e. direct deposit, snail mail...

The IRS has messed a lot of them up, almost 350k rebates were messed up, including mine. I'm married with two kids and they only sent us $900, and we should have received $1800.

married w/ two kids is the maximum 1200 from what i read

the checks go to people who filed income taxes.. thats why they told people who normally dont file to file this year.. and apparently the checks start to go out in may with the last batch going out at the end of july

Actually, 1800 is the max. Maximum of 600 per adult, plus 300 for each kid.
