most likely a meat cutter in part of thhe process. I think they get their meat from one place, beans from another, then they just mix in the sauce at the restaraunt? Somewhere, some guy went "damn, can't find it, oh well, it will show up" .

I worked in Wendys for 2.5 years when I was in high school.
When I was there, the meat in Wendy's chilli was from old hamburgers that were on the grill too long and burned, and were not to be sold cause they look and taste like shit. They store them in bags the fridges. Then they reboil the meat and chop it up and add the ingredients individually.
If you don't notice a finger while making it from scratch, you're either blind, or put it there yourself. Unless they changed how they make it and don't make it in-shop anymore, which I find hard to believe. This was over 10 years ago though, so it's possible they make it at some factory and ship it now.

at least if it was with a normal meat slicer, the fingers would be easy to find. Im thinking it was similiar to the chopping old burger method, but shipped in now instead of being done inhouse. I would expect the tip of a finger to fly away if chopping hard with a butcher knife, instead of falling right in front of you like on a slicer.

I'm with Wiza. As recently as 1998, the chili was made mostly from scratch, the meat coming from overdone burgers. Unless they've changed something since then, and from the taste of the chili, I doubt it, that had to be a finger lost either in the store, or wherever the beans and spices are made.[/list]
