Which is it, then? And tell me your reasons for the preference, please.
As for me, I haven't played any part of Guild Wars at all, but recently I've got Guild Wars: Prophecies, and I'm going to try it out soon. I'm not sure, though, whether or not I should get one of the other two (there's 3 altogether, right?), and if they're any good.

Well, you can't judge expansions separately from each other, because they're not separate games, or even different installments of the same game. They're just expansions, building upon one another, so they're mutually dependent, sort of.
If I had to choose a favorite, though, I'd be hard pressed to choose between the original and Nightfall.
