You'd think mine would be the bard epic, but actually my favorite is a s****y 1-regen ring I got recently. Er. 3 months ago. But yeah, it's great.
I luv it cuz it combined all the different aspects of EQ: Solo camping a s****y boring spot for approx 24 hours (combined). Helping someone else camp the same s****y spot. Then the actual fun part: Impromptu grouping to go kill a critter (the undead giant in Tox).
Also, watching Aluaeia tank better than Tinladar was fun!
So uh...what's your favorite piece of equipment and why?

It's a toss up between my epic and my 8th shawl. Both took a long time to attain, they carry a lot of personal, sentimental value.

Pegasus Feather Cloak.
I was wandering through South Karana and I noticed Quillmane was up, and she was totally owning this level 30ish paladin, the guy was about to die, so I killed it.
This paladin spent like 30 minutes crying to me in tells, telling me the loot that it dropped (some pair of pegasus feather pants, the stats were horrible) were the rarest item in the game. Anyway, I wanted to keep them just to p**s the guy off ya know? But I caved and gave them to him just to get him to f*****g shut the hell up.
15 minutes later Quillmane spawns again, it's all mine. I kill it, got my cloak.
Runner up being Guise of the Deciever because I got it while I was in Pak'Cafan, we took two groups down to "raid" lower guk, I didn't actually get it that run, but it was one of the most enjoyable experiences I've had in EQ, having the guise brings back the memories.

I dunno, I'm still euphoric over the ornate tunic I got earlier, but in terms of sentimental value, i guess my old PoM bp would win.

A few things I like 
First, my Furious Hammer of Zek. I do enjoy whacking stuff with a hammer when I am bored/attempting to solo/farming stuff for tradeskills, but its a pain in the ass to have to summon the hammer.
The Zek hammer has the same proc but is not no rent. It was one of the first items I won when I joined SA. At that time something with 100 hp/mana was extremely kick ass for me.
It drops of Vallon Zek in tactics. The first time we tried VZ, we wiped because we ended up having like 8 Vallon Zeks in camp at once. The second try the script bugged out on us. The third try a few days later, we finally killed it, and on our first kill, the hammer dropped (only two more since in 10 kills). I was willing to bid all my points for it (wasn't that many at the time) but no one even bid against me
My Disciple symbol of Brell is an awesome item, since it summons beer!
My Crimson Ring of Judgment is also one of of my favorites, since its probably my best and most rare item I own. I got extremely lucky to see that ring drop for me (I've been told there are only like a dozen or so on the server).

My favorite items have sentimental value attached to them :
Bard epic - Thanks Minion of Care Bear for the red scale, Reign of Magic (Ramshen is the one who lead the raid on Vox when I couldn't due to level) for the white scale, Team Mana burn for killing fake trak, Abipabi (Pullit) for Eldrig the Old (I camped this guy for 50 spawns the day before, guildie finds him up randomly)
Brells Fishmans Companion - was a gift from Mordiss (gave me the fish when they sold for 3k each in the bazaar)
Breath of Harmony - Gift from Denuvien, Gnosh, Aleori, Mykol and Rokbyter (And used to belong to Deava!)

Sorry, that only summons regular beer. The Disciple symbol of Brell summons Holy Ale of Brell. A far superior item.

The time I got a cobalt bracer when they were still kinda rare.
It was fun to listen to ogres b******g at me telling me a Human don't need one :p sold for a nice 40k.
Incardine bp for invis
various other items Amulet of nec was a fun toy. so and such.

Thr prenerf of the guardian made
14/24 effect minor or major shielding or something.
It was nice for a warrior.
Sold it to Meeatsu got knows what he did to it. Was only like 3 on server.

I traded my breastplate (phase spider carapace, had to go back to the treeweave for a while /cry), a jade mace, and an iksar berzerker's club for my cobalt bracer. At the time that was like 60k worth of stuff. Got it from some cleric that wanted to twink her warrior alt.

I suppose my epic too.
After being KS'd by Bronze on Raster and never seeing Raster again, Purehapa MQ'd a spare Robe of the Lost Circle he had on condition that I got the two pipes within that week, which I did.
Was special to me because Pure was my 'role model' of sorts at the time for becomming a monk.

Yeah warriors would do anything for that baby. They just never had the cash to buy one. I had owend like 4 of them all at diffrent times.

My Jagged Diamond Dirk from the killing Renux part of the Rogue epic.
I had a bunch of friends lined up to help me with the fight and basically everyone but 1 person flaked out of it to go do something else, the guild I was in at the time (Granite War Machine) all said they would help because no one else would, probably like 35 level 10-40 people showed up to help me and we actually won without a single death, it was awesome. It was one of those points in the game where you realize who your true friends are. I really miss that guild

I still remember winning the roll on a Hate BP a loooooooooong time ago. I was really excited about that. My favorite piece of gear atm would prolly have to be my Seru shoulder.

for tam i dont have one.
for sornlia my pali and first toon, prenurfed guise 36 hours plus solid in that room to get a ttb and my guise kept groups going the full time.
jboots, drelzna camp 26 and a half hours to get mine after i let a friend go first on loot list rofl (yes ive always been a nice person and gotten shafted up the ass for it every time).
rebucite legs, camped and tried and died an tried and camped and omg! spent an entire week *curses old ct* never won them swore i was never ever going back to that stupid zone... nullifyer comes up to me in south karana at the aviaks to get the collection of black perls i had been hording away for him.
i put the black pearls in trade window and he put the rubicite leggings in, i got choked up for real. he spent two days camping them to get them for me. (i miss you null /hugs)
and my ghoulbane, 10 mins tops we walked in cleared the place first respawn pop there it is yay! (soulfire gets an honourable mention after i spent two hours locked in the jail in paw and the gm stood there and laughed at me).
