they didnt have to program it so your character had to be logged in and sitting in your apartment to sell shit
they could have made like, a sell shit bank on your bulletin board, or in your bank, or something ..
FFXI figured out how to do it
its not exactly a revolutionary idea to not have to be logged in to sell shit
