Well I've asked this in a million different places and never got a fix but might as well try again.
I have a dell XPS gen 2 and when I plug it into my viewsonic CRT it looks the hertz to 85hz max at any res. The monitor supports 120 on most res's. I've heard this as a common problem in reviews and on forums and what not but I've never found a fix. People have said the video card GF 6800 ultra go locks it for some reason. I havent found any custom drivers that work and GF hasn't updated the drivers for this vid card in forever either. Reforce etc. don't work.
Anyways if anyone knows the fix to this if one even exist please tell me. Also if Dell is doing anything about damages caused by using plug in monitor to the laptop. I've heard about it ruining some monitors and my bugs out sometimes but I'm not sure if its because of my laptop or if the monitor is ruined. Won't know till I buy my desktop and use the monitor then.
