Basically, I'm an aspiring writer. I've got pages and pages. I'm sure many of you here do as well. And, as odd as being serious here may be, I'm willing to go out on a limb.
I'm just looking to know if you know of websites, perhaps organizations, that exist for the benefit of those, like myself, who're looking to compare and contrast pieces. I found a few online, but... they seem far too few and far between. And, on top of that, seem like very few know of their existence. Meh, but the motif is to keep on keeping on, I suppose.
Another thing: if anyone here is remotely serious (or not and just write), I'm looking for anyone interested in writing to share short stories and other such oddities.
thanx

I've got some poetry I've written, there are websites where you can submit and win prizes. I would rather not post in on here though because some people like to criticize every move i make on here.

i don't write much poetry. i know of poetry.com's contests and poetry slams, but i'm not quite the type to do so. there's a certain fashionability and format that, honestly, isn't me; artfags. exhibiting articulation to them (scenesters in the, ahem, scene) would be me screaming at the top of my lungs, backed by a drum machine at 300 bpm. Tastelessness, make them cringe, and my day is made.
But, getting back to the point, poetry ain't my thing. One way or another. Mainly looking for fictional/non-fictional databases of aspiring writers, or, y'know, the like.
And, really, post it if you want. Send a PM if you'd like. I've got some poetry, but, as of late, I'm not so into it as a whole but, more or less, because I haven't had a poem i liked in the longest. sans haiku. i love haiku, no matter what.

If you have time, read Stephen King's "On Writing". He's completely blunt about the best way to go if you're an aspiring writer.
