Thoes f*****g people were harassing me and others to play their f*****g game at Dundracon this year. They are f*****g great. They throw bean bags that have little flames painted on them to represent fireballs, and they have foam lightning bolts which have no aerodynamics so they just fall to the ground when you throw them, but it is suppose to be a lightning bolt spell. Bleh

I did this stuff for about a tear in HS, you know you dead by losing 2 limbs, a hit to a arm or leg is a limb, head or chest shot kills you.
PS: when your out camping and drunk those swords rules.

I guess it's supposed to be on an honor system, like paintball in the rain.
Of the 8 hardcore SCA guys I've met, 7 were witless slackers who needed to escape the disappointing realities of their 'day lives.'
1 was the 8, however, was a desert storm vet who was only 28 when I knew him. He was someone I consider completely full of honor, and the fact that he played in the SCA (I don't consider it 'battling') really surprised me.
I don't know what it is about those people, but almost everyone I've met from the SCA has a serious attitude problem. It's like you have to have an inferiority complex and a chip on your shoulder just to apply.
Or maybe all the leatherworking does it to you.

I went to dundracon for about 10 years now. Havent been there the last 2 though. Once I left WotC, I really dwindled out on MtG and D&D.
One of these years Ill go back though just to play the boardgames.

looks like a pretty decent documentary to me.
about as close as you can get to what it was like to fight hand to hand back then.
