Many people say one of the reasons we went into Iraq was for the oil. Whilst I don't agree with that in the sense that we're going to rob Iraqis of their oil, I've been thinking that a stable and independent Iraqi oil industry that's not part of the OPEC organization would throw a pretty hefty wrench in their ability to control the price of oil.
