Any high population of RP folks anywhere? Downloaded the demo, and thought, hell, why not see if there's a concentration of RP folks--that'd probably be my sole reason to actually play.
I've bashed it before, but (after upgrading my ram and video card) it's not all that bad looking and runs pretty smoothly.
Besides, the p**s-poor storyline of EQ is something I truly need in my life. I've missed it so.

There's two role-playing servers, one is Everybody, other is Euro.
Antonia Bayle server &
Lucan D'Lere
You may find pockets of RP'ers (Roleplayers, not Realpoorians) on other servers. If you have a registered account, or an active station login from any SOE game, check the server boards at:
http://eqiiforums.station.sony.com/eq2?no_redir=true
Don't have any clue what goes on there, but unlike the Firiona Vie server from EQ1, the gameplay is exactly the same as other servers. (For some reason, they allowed No Drop items to be trade-able on FV, the whole economy was completely f****d)

Actually, I meant Realpoorians--I'm sadistic--but you made a good point. I never played on an RP server, but if it can manage to antithesize the experience of WoW, then that might be a good way to first experience EQ2.
But, in all due honesty, the storyline has always been so bad and cookie-cutter that I wouldn't want to RP (actually, can't say I've ever done it); I'm just looking for the local scum bags to entertain me for a week (or longer if the game piques my interest).

Oh lol
I think Unrest has the highest concentration of ex-TM,Enlightened Dark is there... I think BC but maybe BC is elsewhere...
A lot of Tarew is on Guk too
PakCafan is on Najena
Sanctus Arcanum is on Mistmoore...
those are all heavy load servers (the first ones up at release)... so you should find plenty of ex-Tarew on either Unrest or Guk, as well as Mistmoore & Najena...
As for general RP'ers that dont play in hardcore guilds, I don't think the general scum has an official server as of yet... probably Guk comes closest to that but Guk has general scum from many backgrounds... I chose a Light-Medium server and have come across a fair amount of entertainment, plus the zone populations are more favorable... although the LFG time can be tedious but I play with the same person each night and we just start our own groups

True. I appreciate the help! I'd say they should make a sticky for who's on what server, but that got outdated (and quickly at that) on the WoW forum, probably due to the nature of the game (especially levelling speed).

MMOs have storylines? When did this happen?
