I am finally back to cable and was wondering if WoW was enjoyable to play. I need something to do.

Its a fun game at the beginning, but after awhile it gets old.......agree with above numbers. I wouldnt say dont get it. Get it, enjoy, move on or wait for the next expansion if you survive long enough after you've hit 60 and killed Onyxia the dragon and twiddled your thumbs.
You level fast, tons of quests, moves along pretty fun then you start to feel bored.

I like it a lot, but these guys are sort of right. I'm a very casual gamer. It takes me about a week to hit level 15, most people do this in one session. I've been playing since this time last year, though. Smile I just like starting over with different races / classes and exploring newbie areas.

I thought about getting guildwars briefly. Is it worth the money? How are the servers (lag, congestion, etc). Is it filled with a bunch of stupid, punk assed, trash talking kids because they don't need their mommies' credit card numbers to play?

Oh, and is the gameplay any good? I played the demo back like a year ago, but it didn't really show a lot.

What are you playing in SWG? A combat class?

I just can't get back into it. I keep one account running because I dont wanna lose my shit but gamewaise I can't seem to get the hang of it. I never bothered to get the newest expansion either.

I'm hesitant to play another sony game. Too much trauma from EQ, like that time they made a newb mage quest robe that looked like the one I scored in POF.

random_newb01 tells you, "pls summon me ________"

Although I've always wanted to be a bounty hunter...

So you were a high level mage that looked like a low level one.

If you play, you must pick PvP so that you have something to do at endgame when you aren't raiding.

I tryed WoW out for a couple months. Got an Orc Hunter to level 27? - something like that. I found the game to be quite fun, however it never really hooked me like EQ did.

The big pluses were that I could log in whenever I wanted and always find something to do. There are tons of quests and soloable content and soloing is much more interesting in WoW for some reason than soloing in EQ (haven't really figured out why, probably because the pace of action is much faster).

I did find myself logging in less and less, and finally decided it was a waste of money. I still play EQ and have the EQ bug, so perhaps that had a lot to do with it.

I like the gameplay and the storyline.

But there are a shitload of idiots. But there are also the people who actually try and make the best of the game. You can usually pick out the dumb ass's because they can't keep there mouth shut.

The missions are fun and the quests are fun. This game is a team effort are you can play with Henchmen NPC players. But they need to improve the Henchies a little.

I play a Warrior/Monk atm I'm swordsman and healing skilled with a little for tactics so I can use good shields. I'm useally the last person left alive if all goes to shit. Then I res everyone and they tell me i'm awesome.

I still enjoy WoW, and I consider myself a fairly hardcore gamer (leveled to 60 in less then 2 weeks), although the amount of time I spend in game has gone down quite a bit from when I was leveling, I mostly login 4 days out of the week, weekends for MC / Onyxia, weekdays for PvP.

There's *ALOT* of new content comming out within the next few months, including Battlegrounds which are really fun, and a few new raid instances (Blackwing Lair, and another 20 man raid instance similar to UBRS, both are in Closed Dev Testing now).

My suggestion to you is to find a guild that you like, and stick with them. A good guild will make WoW much more enjoyable.

Its still going strong but my problem with EQII is that its become cookie-cutter at high end. There is no difficulty whatsoever and pretty much all level 50 characters are equipped with the same shit. They just keep making it easier and easier to appeal to the mass-market

When people started playing EQ, once it was released, it was fun, because we had nothing to really compare it to. Now with the advent of multiple games on the market, we have become jaded in our comparisons. The thing to do is make your own judgement call, make your own decisions...don't listen to anyone else, but go with your gut feeling.

I've played WoW and EQ2, and lost interest fast...I just can't seem to find something that will keep my attention like EQ1 did when it first came out.

Wrong forum nub.

Blizz is keeping up reasonably well with the gamer demands, adding in BG's and blackwing lair (?) soon should be a nice addition, especially with as little guilds are there are finished with MC.

I'd consider myself fairly hardcore in wow,

I have a 60 priest that has been doing Onyxia for months, and multiple Ragnaros kills.

Whilst its fun doing those above things that covers less that 2 days a week.

I made a warrior alot and got it to 60 and am having a blast again doing places like scholo/dm/strath/ubrs etc.

BG comes out this patch, hopefully BWL out soon also.

Having a look around the world you can see stacks of new instances that will be available in the future. I guess it all depends on when they start getting these things up and ready.

I would assume that since its been released now in china, and almost everywhere else in the world they will be able to concentrate on adding more content soon.

If i get bored again ill just make another alt Smile
