I was looking at some fan vote sites, for MMO games of course, and I was surprised to see that WoW is nowhere near the top of those lists. At the same time, WoW is still raking in the cash, with both retail sales and subscriptions of the chart. So, what gives? Where'd the fan vote go?

Well, one man's "fan vote" is another man's "biased fanboy b***h crap vote", if I may be so bold. The people who vote in open polls for best MMORPG and the like are actually a very small minority, and quite a vocal one at that. That's one of the reasons no one takes those polls seriously any more (if ever).
