always check the links they send you too - but i'm guessing a lot who want to be on that beta will get caught out by this.

Same, I got it too. I was freaked out a while but then I noticed they asked me to put in my user and pass at blizzardaccounts.tk.
By then, I knew it was fake. But the 1st few paragraphs of the email sounded so freaking real.

Lol, all you have to do is use hotmail's ability to send e-mails from different accounts. It allows you to send an e-mail linked to your account and anything you put into it, but the e-mail adress is whatever you choose.

My friend received a phone call from blizzard for a beta testing key. Not sure if they send emails as well.

I got an email with a beta code but I still wouldn't click on any links in an email. There's no reason to, just type it into your browser manually.

i'd like to add that my old guildmaster got one of those and got his account stolen
the character logged in one night when we were doing sunwell and stole our entire guildbank (over 100,000 gold worth of money and items) then guildkicked a bunch of people, luckily there wasnt a guild disband
just gotta watch out for this kind of crap

This is not a lie if you are thinking that it is, people have the abilitied to bounce emails making it so that it will appear as whatever they want.
I will say it once: A game sites NEVER ask for your username/password, and if they send a link to change it ect it will be eg. [www. ( OFFICIAL NAME ).Com/.co.uk.
Watch out because these types of emails are becoming a more and more popular way of scamming.
