As for any other MMO game, it is the best to have any kind of broadband connection if you wish to play WoW. It is very sad for you not to be able to have faster connection, and because you are stuck on ancient dial-up and 56K. Theoretically, World of Warcraft should run on dial-up, but it would be very bad experience. MMO need fast connection to swap pieces of information with server. This is done many times every second and minute. On the slow connection, the game would be very nutty, and it would be very choppy. It is better not to play it on dial-up. Wait for the better times, when you will be able to have broadband.
