Word from Blizzard is that the beta signups for WoW will begin end of this month.

As many of you know, we are currently conducting an internal Alpha test for World of Warcraft. Our goal for this Alpha test is to provide the best possible experience for players when the Beta launches in early 2004.
In order to accelerate the testing process, we recently allowed a small group of external testers to play the game. During this process, a collection of files was leaked to the Internet. While these files contain alpha content from the game, they are not fully playable and therefore do not convey the experience that World of Warcraft will provide when it is released.
We are currently investigating this matter and will take serious action against those involved.
As always, we appreciate the interest and enthusiasm that players around the world have for World of Warcraft, and we look forward to delivering a massively multiplayer game unlike any you have ever experienced. Until then, we ask that you refrain from sharing any content that doesn't come directly from Blizzard Entertainment.
Lastly, we would like to announce that sign-ups for the World of Warcraft Beta test will begin at the end of this month. Stay tuned to www.blizzard.com for further details

Tauren Shaman Omol? is that a carry over from the eq Ogre, or just something you chose? Im having a hard time giving up the idea of a troll, but seems like the tauren run speed advantage is too big to pass up simply for a different graphic/ roleplay reasons.

Yea it is kindda. Why I picked a Shaman is beyond me. Guess I just want to try something different out, tho the warrior class sound to good to be true tho, and Orcs and Trolls just dont appease me as much as the idea of a Tauren does. Really wish I could play a ogre in WoW tho.

Me too =/
But it sounds as if the Tauren is the substitute in wow for the beefy brutes.
I think I'm going to go Tauren warrior. With any luck we can hunt together Omol da ox! Hey, come to think of it, Tauren is pretty darn close to an ox!!

think gnome in eq but smaller and funnier. The way they move and the options you have for custom things on them (ie hair/beards and such) is pwn. Like in terms of size the gnomes seem like they would come up to the knee of a tauren but Im not sure on that. Just ran around the alpha as a gnome. Saw some of the sites and fooled around w/ char creation to see all the stuff.

How has it delayed the game? Because they pushed it back? Shit the f*****g world isnt even complete and we all know how Blizzard does things. There are still some things missing area wise in the alpha.

The alpha client being leaked wont affect shit. In case you didnt notice beta will be soon and all this information plus more will be out there for people to get ahold of.
