The number of player versus environment style of play servers are growing rapidly as compared to the player versus player style of play servers. What do you make out of this topic on WoW PvE servers vs PvP servers. I think that this is telling us something, but I am not sure what yet. Are you?

I am not sure as well, but I am not writing here to tell you that I don’t know the answer to your question. I am writing here to ask you how sure are you that the number of one servers of one type are out numbering servers of another type. I would like to get this info before I start to comment on their findings. I would need to be sure that what you are saying is correct because I would hate to make any kind of suggestions and later find out that the bases on which I found my suggestions are not correct. If you find time to explain all this to me, I will reply to your question.

but being ganked at lowbie lvls sux

really there isnt much difference anymore. I've played both pvp and pve and the pve server we had alot more world pvp(pre tbc) then the pvp server I play on now post tbc. You might get ganked here and there on pvp but meh
|

In all honesty I never found a difference between the 2.I do miss being able to fight horde/alliance at any point and time as it makes it feel more of a battle then running past the other guy without any recourse, but in terms of pvp, the best pvp your gonna get out of this game is from arena's at this point. sad to say, world pvp is dead.

I liked getting ganked while leveling, and then hunting down the one who did it and ganking them.
PvP > PvE

I prefer PvE realms, not because I don't like to gank and stuff, but they are lots of groups to 5man and raid. I leveled in PvP and I can tell you i got more outdoor pvp on the pve realm.

ive leveled both on a pvp and pve server and i harldy new the difference leveling sure i killed people here and there, but at 70 i hardly got ganked at all its just the same as pve imo, you can find both quality players in both IMO

ive lvled toon to 70 on both pve and pvp servers. Since the new PvP point system and resilience sets came out i hate pvp. Now before all the new pvp stuff i loved the pvp servers even tho is was really nice to lvl to 70 with out having to watch your back on the pve server but honestly now with the xpac and all the new pvp stuff i would rather be on a pve server.

Ive played on both to 70 myself and Ive found that PVE is more serious and people are more mature, PVP is relaxed and filled with people who dont really care that much.... if that makes any sense
its really sad too.. because after they added battleground they more or less killed PVP across the board for casual players
as it is now, if you want to PVP you join a group and group queue for a battleground ... if your on a pve server or a pvp server, you may think that if youre on a pvp server you can just go out and kill people outside of a battleground... while that is true, you just dont find that many people outside of battlegrounds... anyone endgame anyway, because if theyre playing their either: in an instance/raiding or running battlegrounds... and maybe... just maybe youll see them farming or doing dailys... but thanks to flying mounts.. there really isnt any interaction at all >.>
they should come out with a new server type... that has no battlegrounds, where a pvp server could be when this game first started, which I think is more fun

i've done both and it was really easy to level on a pve server, and i didn't really miss the opportunity to gank poor n00bs

A lot of people just don't want the hassle of pvp servers when leveling. For some it is a nice change of pace to break up the monotony of leveling though.
It is pretty awesome whenever new classes or races are introduced and lots of people start leveling again because the pvp really picks up.
