|
|
|
So I downloaded WoW Beta and now I have a folder with 2 things in it. A notepad file named "Tracked_by_Demonoid.com" (with the same thing written in it when you open it) and a folder called "World of Warcraft Beta2 - Tracked by Demonoid.com" with all these RAR files in it called "ptn-wowbeta2.part01" thru "ptn-wowbeta2.part39" and also some NFO files.
So I extracted one of the RAR files and and it has a file in it called, "ptn-wowbeta2.iso". Seems they all have the same thing in them (kinda confused about this part too). Anyways, what the hell do I do to install it. When I had Alpha it just had it's own installer and it went right in. This time it's all funky/different.
Anyone know what to do? Please help.

If it's an iso, burn it to a cd as an image.
Do the isos just have the same name or are the crc and filesize the same too?

Seems to be the same thing. The thing that's weird is that a single RAR seems to be only 50mb but when I extract it it is 2 gigs (no wayt it's compressed THAT much... is it?). The folder with all the RAR's in it is just under 2 gigs too (it almost seems like when you extract one it sorta connects it automatically to the others /shrug).
Also, being that the ISO is 2 gigs it says it won't fit on the CD.
Finally, the following is the info that was the supposid instructions from where I downloaded it from... but they don't really make sense to me cuz of the whole 2a/2b business:
-------------------------------INSTRUCTIONS-------------------------------
Installing:
When you have downloaded via Bittorrent af lot RAR files are downloaded, and you will need WINRAR to Unrar them.. ( www.rarlabs.com )
1: Select one (only one, doesnt matter witch) and unrar it
(Choose even 2a or 2b)
2a: Unrar the ISO file with UNRAR and run the setup(windows).exe (Recommended, cous you dont need that much programs)
2b: Use Deamon tools to run the ISO file as a virtual CD drive
3: Install it where you want it with the key: CFM46P-8J7R-9P4CE9-9JEZ-8GFFXF

Rar files are generally used for compression because they can be broken down into arbitrary file sizes (like a floppy disk, or cd), and yes, they'll automatically connect to the next rar in the series (usually, if no one buggered with the file names) to unpack the entire thing.
I'm assuming now that what you were thinking is that the full 2 gb iso was in each and every rar file, which it's not, you only need to open the first of the batch (usually the .rar or .ra0 file) and unpack the whole thing, each of the individual rar files only spans 50 mb or whatever of the 2 gb iso, so you need them all to unify into the actual file(s).
If you do that, there might be an exe in there to run also (but that is small enough that it only shows up if you look at one particular rar in the series), otherwise, step 2a makes no sense.
