I think the games community which really wasn't all that much there during beta (relatively speaking of course) will become revolutionary once release comes around. There will be SO many people. I think just about every area will be filled and the community will soar from there.
I've given a lot of thought into WoW, they have made some good changes, I have given up on expecting another EQ. However, all and all, this game I think will be great for a good 6 months+. As with all MMO's the big thing that keeps people coming back after the original "good new game" sensation begins to die off is people you play and interact with. Of course the game would need to continue to be fun to expect people to continue playing.
I think this game is close to reaching a good thing, and thats grouping, not anti-soloing, just grouping. With a few more tweaks I think the leveling experience will be much more fun.
I've done some reading up on the raid plans they have and all and all I think it looks good. Making a fun raid isn't so easy to do, but from what I've read they seem to be on the right path, though I strongly disagree with the majority being instances. On the other hand the WoW instance system is much different of that in EQ. Basically, that isn't a make or break issue for me. The raids are key, if the raids are fun, people will continue to plow through the levels without getting bored knowing that the raids are soon to come (not saying leveling is boring, just gives further motivation).
Thats my outlook of the game for release.
