I recently purchased a Lap top that uses a Dell Truemobile 1300 WLAN mini-PCI card on Windows XP. Now I'm averaging 11 MBPS. However, this card supports both 802.11 B and 802.11 G. 11 MBPS seems kinda low for G standard, since it should cap at 54 MBPS. I have already set my Linksys 2.4 GHZ wireless router to G only. I was wondering if Windows auto-configs my PCI card to what network standard it uses. Could I manually configure my PCi to G only? I go to Properties and under IBSS, I can only select 802.11 B or Normal mode.
Any help would be great, thanks.
