I like XP just because it requires so much less RAM. Just runs so smooth, I miss it dearly. However if your computer can run vista easy, just go with it.

Vista is a Joke. a poor excuse from Microsoft to get some money. It's a pile of crap they pretend to be "next-gen" and since they own DirectX they also use it so they prevent DX10 to run on XP like kindergarden bullies who would leave you alone only if you give them your lunch. It's the greatest b******t after the Y2K bug.

Well why can i then? Shocked

I'd suggest just getting Vista because of DX10 which they are activating on AoC soon.
It also makes Crysis and Company of Heroes look that little bit more better although i just removed alot of the crap that comes with it like Aero, all the Windows mail, calendar and sidebar.
Also, as someone has stated beforehand: they're forcing people to get Vista just to be able to use the new graphics cards.

XP, hands down. Sure, Vista has DX10, but it eats up a lot of memory idling and is chock full of compatibility issues when playing games, none of which can be resolved.

For example, when I play TF2, it crashes every time a server loads a new map. There is no solution to this except not using Vista. Thanks a lot Microsoft for a $200 repack of XP with a huge pile of bugs and Microsoft spyware.

Windows Vienna coming out soon! Guess what it is: added features to Vista, and just adds in stuff missed out from XP and some more crap.

Yay.

haha, I am the lone wolf here. I play WOW on vista and I find its better than XP. Sometimes on XP if the game crashed I had to restart, and sometimes Alt+tabbing paused it up.

Got vista, and all those issues went away.

Depends what game. XP for more games because they are compatiable. If you have vista you only get like 20 games.
