My Pc just did this to me. I tried booting it up in everymode and it would just reboot...pretend to be loading windows and reboot. I tried reformatting but it would no longer recongnize my HD as a Drive.

I didn't knwo what to do so I bought a new HD and reinstalled the shit I needed to install. I lost 2-3 yrs of stuff Sad

Hubby works in IT, says it's the blaster virus. Says you need to do a low level format. IE Write 0's to your drives. Find the maunfacturer's website and download a utility wich allows you to write zeros to your drive.

Or

In a rare RARE RARE case, check the capacitors on your motherboard if they are bulging (the little drums look swollen) then bye bye mother board, hello paperweight.

Scoresia, its not the "blaster" virus.

Typically, the blaster virus would cause a machine to reboot in scheduled intervals.

If a machine is infected, the machine should still be able to be logged in.

Typical error of "System shutdown by NT Authority\System" message will be displayed.

Doesn't require format of the Hard drive.

In other cases, it will cause a machine to reboot every time the machine connects to the Net. If there are apps setup to autostart before login, and connect via internet, it would do this. Fix would be to disconnect the internet connection, and follow steps to "clean" the virus.
