Well, for a buck, you wouldn't feel like you were getting ripped off much.

when airlines post a typo airfare they are required to honor those tickets for the purchased price.

how is this any different?

When Nvidia's 4600s were brand new BestBuy ran a preorder sale on them, but the ad accidently said something like $150... it was a $450+ card. Depending on the store, sometimes they honored it without question, some flat out refused the offer, and some gave in after getting hassled.

I used to work retail and if we had a sale price that didn't match up and they could prove this we had to honor it, hell even if things in store had the wrong price listed. I once had to give a guy a 199 item for 99 as some lazy ass did the sign wrong heh

I had a similar issue a while back with a mistake in a laptop listing, making a $2500+ laptop to be $250+. Needless to say, they didn't let the offer go either. There's a difference in the terms between online listings and actual print or in store listings.

Yes they are legally obligated to sell you software at 1/100th the price because one of their employees made a typo. Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes When you call your lawyer to get this lawsuit going he will laugh at you for 20 minutes and then charges you $200 for his time.

This happens all the time and people jump on the chance of cheap shit.

Wouldn't surprise me if the online stores actually did it on purpose for a laugh since they don't have to honour the price anyway. Just to see how many people try to buy them.

crack jokes and be an ass all you want. but it doesn't change the fact that what i said was true and comparing it too.

when airlines post airfares online and typo it, they ARE obligated to honor those airfares at that price.

so tell me how purchasing a plane ticket online is different than purchasing a piece of software online.

Airlines are not "obligated" to sell those tickets but did so to avoid bad publicity. Almost every online store has a section on mispriced items and that they are not obligated to honor them.

All they have to do is prove that they posted the "correct" price elsewhere. Happened with some guy that took a guy selling a 500 dollar camera for 50 dollars by typo, he proved he put in the correct price in another place and it was just messed up once.
