I'm setting this environment up, it's a downloaded copy of the OS. Does it have to be activated for IIS to start serving pages?

I have all my permissions set, everything I needed is installed, and nothing. Can't bring up default web or the admin site.

Anyone have a clue?

Format, install Linux or FreeBSD, and save time. Both OS' are legal and come with Apache, which is more stable, faster, and has more features than IIS. It's also free.

If you think learning a Win32 server and OS is somehow quicker than learning Linux, you've clearly never seen the 20 bookshelves of "IIS For Dummies" at your local book store / library.

The site is already done entirely in ASP/VBScript...does apache handle those. I'm gonna assume it does it farely well with modvb

Do the powers that be have legit licenses? If not, you're an accomplice in committing a crime. I wonder if cost of IIS + cost of the OS is great enough to make it a federal crime? (Answer: Yes!)

Anyway, I'm sure they're paying you enough to make up for some prison time, right?
