I'm going with mage - enchanter - coercer because from what I've read it's the closest to being like an enchanter from EQ1, which was fun to play.
Since I don't have first hand experience on that assumption (as I'm still awaiting my copy....f*****s) has anyone learned anything contrary to that?

I am going Necro because the spells just f*****g own heh. I did the healer thing in EQLive and dont want to do it in EQ2. Im not into tankage so that leaves me with a mage. Warlock sounds cool but I like the utility spells the Necro brings to a group =)

I am going with Warrior---> Guardian because it just fits my play style. I enjoy being at the front of a battle or maintanking but also being a little bit tactical, which is where the guardian part comes in with it's group shielding combat arts.

has anyone done bard at all? i havnt heard anything about them .. they were like .. the least popular EQ class ..
did they change at all? like .. do you still have to kill yourself clicking your keyboard?

well I was going to go the path of the Necromancer, just like on regular EQ. And I only wanted to be a dark elf necro, but the dark elves looked too much like girls...I think it was the hair.
So I decided to go Priest - Shaman - Once the time comes a mystic.
I don't know how many countless shaman alts and bots I made on EQ1 that I never leveled, but wanted to. So I decided to finally try them on EQ2.

Dark Elf- Enchanter - and probably Coercer... The enchanter class has some more nukes and they can also evac!  Been a lot of fun so far, and I'll find out tonight at lvl 10 what it's truely like!

Bards are good classes in EQ2 .. and this time they dont have to worry about carpal tunnel syndrome 
I play a Predator myself ... Wood elf, female Predator. Soon to be Ranger.
Wood elf Fems are hot

Apparently from what a bard friend of mine told me, thier effects last 2.5 mins, rather than a few seconds.

I was all set to play a halfling Swashbuckler, but when I finally got the game I randomly decided on a High Elf mage, now summoner, soon to be conjurer, and I'm loving it so far. I've always got the swashbuckler to fall back on if I get bored with conjurer, but I can't see it happening at the moment.
