Now supposedly that muslim marine who was captured wasn't actually beheaded, but has chosen to defect in exchange for his life. We'll see which of the conflicting stories proves true.

A white soldier didn't want to go to Iraq and deserted. They shouldn't let white people in the Army either.

I don't know of any statement from the marine to date, only from his captors or liberators, and family. While I'd be the first in line to hang a deserter, it's probably best in this case to wait for the dust to settle, find out what actually happened....and then hang him of course.

That's the military code of conduct, not the geneva conventions.
Article V:
When questioned, should I become a prisoner of war, I am required to give name, rank, service number, and date of birth. I will evade answering further questions to the utmost of my ability. I will make no oral or written statements disloyal to my country and its allies or harmful to their cause.
