Why Sorcerer is so weak in Vanguard?

I honestly don't get it. It's supposed to be the nuke, the chief damage dealer out there, but in the end the drawbacks overcome the slight advantage in damage output it has. Arcane and fire spells are OK I guess, but ice spells are woefully weak in comparison. Buffs for the sorcerer himself are OK, but there's very little in the way of ally buffs. I could go on like this all day.
What were they thinking?

I'm sick and tired of these little rants that come with every MMORPG.
If the powers that be heeded your call and buffed up to sorcerer to meet your liking, rest assured that in a few days you would see a lot of players favoring some other classes complaining how the sorcerer was overpowered and class X so terribly weak now…
