Did you notice that most players of Second Life do not participate in social life outsides Second Life? They are closed in their in-game communities and all of their social activity happens by watching the CRTs and TFTs inside four walls of their homes? I think this is a real problem for todays world.

I think you are wrong. Ok, not totally wrong, but yet most people I know who do play Second Life, still didnt neglect their First Life. My girlfriend for example is on SL for a couple of years now, but we still hang out together with our friends, of which no one is playing SL:
