Well, he's not dead yet, but just about. Supposedly in a coma at least, some say brain dead. Doctors have no clue what's wrong with him. Makes you wonder if Israel found some way of getting to him with some new microbial or chemical agent. Or maybe he just has something nobody's ever seen before. Still, it makes you ponder.
And yeah, yeah good riddance, I already said it

Thank f*****g god, whatever the reason behind it.
He not only has hte blood of thousands of Jews on his hands, but over double that number of his own people. He single handedly obstructed and refused many peace deals, most notably the Camp David accords that Clinton orchestrated.
With Arafat dead maybe we can achieve peace in the next decade. Sharon seems to have finally recognized reality in his old age, with his plans for leaving Gaza, and once he loses an election sometime soon a more moderate Israeli can get them out of most of the West Bank.
This is all IF, and only IF, the Palestinians decide to dismantle Hamas and abandon terrorism, and negotiate in good faith.

I doubt it, there are too many moderates in israel who would see an overt assassination of arafat as more of a hinderance than a help.

Isreal had plenty opportunities to make a martyr of him.
Of course, that wont stop people from wanting him to be a martyr.
