I just found out I have quite a difficult microecon test the day of release, F my school I'm not quite sure how server stability will be on day one anyway though, so I'm only minorly p****d off.

I think the servers all have multiple servers within them to host different sections of the world. So if you pull ahead in leveling than the other people, you won't have much trouble with lag unless you are on the same host as them (zoning area).

I'll be one of the lucky few @fry's midnight to get my advanced copy and smack the devs around a bit. So I'll be playing the moment the servers go live. I can probably get to 15 or so on my mage in one day without much effort, then I'm off thursday, friday, sat, sun, so I'll just powerlevel to 30 and be ahead of the curve with no problems.

you're not going ahead of the curve by getting to level 15 in one day, i'll tell you that much.

I managed level 22 my first day of stress, my guild leader was closing on 30.
I think we either need lives, or the rest of the server just sucked. :/

22 and 30 in a day? That sounds like some exaggeration unless you played 19-20 hours that day and your guild leader pulled a few levels out of his ass and played 24 straight. 30 in a day isn't possible is it? It takes at least an hour per level (even longer if you quest because of running back and forth mostly) once you get into the teens.

Most of us pulled 30+ hours straight, we're hardcore.
We'll be doing it again in retail to stay away from all the newbs, it's nice being the only people in a zone and not having to compete for mobs.
The secret is: Knowing the quests, what order to do them in and having a group of people that can complete all the elite quests rapidly. Oh, and being able to play for stupid amounts of time doesn't hurt either.
We have a saying in Nova:
"Sleep is for p*****s, and p*****s aren't allowed in Nova."

yeah apparently jobs are for p*****s. I'll just keep collecting my p***y pay checks :/
Anyways leveling is no biggie. Leveling fast is about efficiency, and if you can play 20hrs a day for a few days sure you'll be ahead of everyone else for a while, but there are going to be tons of efficient players who level fast in the time they have to play who won't really be all that far behind you.

When WoW is released, there will be a nationwide low of elementary school attendance.

If jobs are for p*****s, than meow, cuz I need money. I guess the rest of you let mom and dad foot the bill, but I'll just stick with my p***y job.
Anyhow, level 15 is good considering I won't be staying hom the day after it's released. However I WILL be home thurs, friday, sat, and sunday, so I expect to be closing on 40 by the end of the weekend. Then I will sit back and relax.

Yeah, me and 4 of my guild mates are going the horde route. Mostly trolls and orcs it seems.
Anyway, we each have a plan. one of us goes herb/alch, the next skinning/leather, mining/smithing, tailoring/enchant & finally well, no. that's it. tailoring might break up and do mining also (for cash or to supply our smith) and enchanting might do herbalism also. It all works out in the end though.
I'm deffinatly gonna be Orc Warrior again. just gotta be! Of course I'll also remake my Undead Mage also, just 'cause he was fun as well.
Anywho... yeah. I plan on hitting 15-20 on day 1, 'cause really it isn't that hard. the other day when beta1 was down, we all remade on test 25 & leveled for just a few hours, and we kicked ass.
It's going to be very easy getting "ahead of the pack" in WoW, 'cause there really arn't that many hard core power gamers. Most are young kids who'd rather spend their time b******g about everything than actually getting shit done.
At least in my experience.

if you think there aren't that many power gamers playing WoW you are sadly mistaken. It's just that 90% of them are playing on the PvP servers so it's not that hard to pull ahead of the curve on the PvE servers Not having to worry about being PK'd constantly makes it a bit easier to pump out those levels.

I just want to stay ahead of the curve so I don't keep gettinbg ganked by people who are consistently 10+ levels higher than me- instead I'll be stomping them-and that's pvp -where the weak are killed and eaten.

Paid vacation time owns.
It's not like we pull all nighters everday, just for the first few days or so to get ahead of everyone so we don't have to compete with other players over elite quests and such, and to stay dominate in PvP.

as far as the boards go, FoH is going horde PVE on release.
Sure there's the side group, Keystone and others that wish to stay PVP, but the main guild is going PVE.

the game is going to suck if you don't go PVP, when you run out of things to do, which may be a long time, you will still have PVP.
