Healing's fun, I've got to say. Especially in level 20-40 5 mans because hardly anyone needs a heal, especially in Deadmines. Though it is quite boring doing nothing in an instance; but, then again, some people like doing nothing. In the raids at level 70, you're gonna have a tough time.

I rolled a shaman because I liked the idea of healing, but didn't want to be doing it all the time. I played as elemental and had maybe 20 pts in resto tree, so it wasn't bad. I could dps and heal, depending on what was needed. I liked healing on occasion, but then you get the really awful groups who pull 2 sets of mobs, the tank can't tank, and the dps just do whatever, and I get blamed for all of it. Good times =D

I agree... i only like healing as a resto druid... i have a preist with a healing set and hate respecing from shadow to heal. And healing with hots is awesome.

Playing a resto shaman at high rated 2v2 arenas is really fun. Theres alot of things you have to interrupt, los, and kite while keeping health high.

My main is a healer and i really like it, as it gives you the feeling of most control of the situation and unlike ppl say i get more compliments for my healing than blaming =)
Dps can get quite boring too, the only downside to healing is world PvP, as if u dont have a dps class to heal it can get quite boring.

Healing can be fun or nightmare. It's fun when your group mates know how to play and have a decent gear. But when you get in a bad group, where everyone is complaining about the others, the tank doesn't have defensive stance, the rogue is using a skinning knife and the mage is in full strength/agility gear...well than healing is the worst thing on the world.

Have a 70 holy priest, almost 70 holy paladin, 50something resto druid etc etc..

I used to heal pre-70 on my nelf priest. Was quite enjoyable...I used to like the fact that people depended on me...but there was always that niggling feeling that you could never do anything but heal...as healers were always in short supply...only downside...oh and also the spam whenever you were idling in IF..."wanna heal strat? lol"...eugh...

Healing is fun sometimes, when you're the only healer up top with your main tank on Kalec and you have di up and 10k mana, then it's fun.

I'm a closet healer, a holy priest/pally and resto druid, I can safely say that Pally and Priest take some skill to play but resto druids are easy mode!

I like healing because it is mindless. I know it is kind of lazy, but you have to do less work reading up on fights and what not. Whatever you do, the main guy can help out. It can be stressful though trying to keep up 9 other guys.

my main at 60 was a tank and loved it, i tanked mc bwl and aq40 and the first few bosses of naxx, but once bc came out i leveled my shaman to 70 first and respecced resto. i discovered i really enjoy healing, plus the utility of shamans and the efficiency of chain heals means i always get into raids, so now my healer is my main! maybe for wotlk i will start tanking again but probably on a DK since it is something new.

Healing can be alot of fun but borning after a while too. I have a T5 shaman and it gets old very fast

Healing is the most interesting to do in WoW. I personally prefer a Holy Paladin because of the looks

I find healing alot more challanging and rewarding when compairing myself to others, exceling at healing is far more fun then dps

If by backup, you mean "the best single-target healers", I totally agree.

hey i've been playing a melee dps for far too long, tried healing with my friends shammy and priest and boy oh boy it was a trip, props to all you good healers out there, its quite difficult

You can't love healing if you've healed MC back in the day. Staring at bars for 6 hours isn't fun.
