I'm looking to figure out how to use active X controls "Via Tools > View > Control Toolbar

Basically i'm trying to add text boxes in my spreadsheets where you can enter a value and once entered, will lookup that value in a range of selected cells of data and return them.

I know the VLOOKUP function but I do not know how to apply it with Text boxes.

hepl plz

VLOOKUP is a spreadsheet function, it will only work in Cells. Anything having to do with manipulating text boxes with events requires the use of VBA. Do yourself a favor and go to Barnes & Nobles and pick up a book on Excel VBA.

Link the value (Properties->Values) of your text box to a cell. Lookup operations can then be performed on that cell, which will be whatever you type into your text-box. Alternatively, create your form in such a way that the data entry elements are actual cells (hint: merge cells that are not used as entry, display or labels).

Btw, it may not be as easy, but MS Access is incredibly more powerful for creating interactive reports/forms. Have fun!
